Nope Mr K. A heavy duty bulb would have a LL behind it indicating Long Life. Look at the life ratings I posted on the 2057. They are no greater than the 1157. The filament hasn't been changed on the brake circuit so they will last the same.

If your socket only has plastic dividers then you will melt them using 1157's or 1056's. The turn signals don't matter since they are intermittant use.
